The Dream Journal – September 2022

Hello!

How did it get to be September already? Our field corn crop is rather sparse, but our sunflowers are making up for it. One sunflower variety is relatively short with multi-colored blossoms; the other advertises itself as having 12 foot stalks, and that advertisement is accurate. They’re huge! The neighborhood bees are loving the blossoms. We found a few straggler peaches in our orchard in the last week or so, and we have one pear tree that looks like it will grace us with some gnarly looking pears. Lots of new growth on all the fruit trees. Our foxes have moved along for the season, but the young turkeys and their guardian mamas are still around. Not quite sure how many flocks we have, but we sure do have a lot of turkeys!

We have one show this month, and it’s going to be a fun one! We’re back live, in person, at Wild Hog In The Woods in Madison, WI on Friday, September 16th for our “Dueling Duos” show with Andina & Rich (Sandy Andina and Stephen Lee Rich). We’ve done a few shows with Sandy and Steve over the years, and they’re always a hoot! The show is at the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center. Doors open at 7pm, music starts at 7:30. Admission is typically $2 for members, $4 for non-members, and during the show they pass “Phillup the Pig”, a ceramic wild boar piggy bank. Proceeds from Phillup are split between the venue (a great neighborhood resource!) and the musicians.

Last year’s live show at the Parish Center for the Arts in Westford, MA was our first live, in-person indoor show in what felt like forever. Here’s our song New Vision from that show. Laugh together every day!
