The Dream Journal – October 2026

Hello!

It’s been a while since we’ve done an extended road trip! The month of September has found us in some pretty toasty parts of the country. Every time it looked like we were about to have a cooler day, our schedule would take us a bit further south, and we’d be back into the blast furnace again. Temperatures topped 100° while we were in Kansas, and never dropped below 90° during the daytime in Austin, TX. Although the trip has been great so far other than the weather, we’re Northeasterners! We don’t do heat like that very well, and we’re delighted to be headed north again into cooler weather.

Our first cool stop is Madison, WI this Friday, October 2nd. We’re back at Wild Hog In The Woods, in the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center, where we’ll be joining our friends Andina & Rich (Sandy Andina & Stephen Lee Rich) for an evening of Dueling Duos! Our goal is to have each song we perform tie in with whatever song they have just played through some logical thread (however tenuous), and they will do likewise. We decide on the fly what to play next — there’s no planned set list.  There’s a high probability we’ll be pulling out songs we haven’t played in a while if that’s where the threads take us. The fun starts at 7:30pm!

We’re then off to North Dakota on Sunday, October 11th for a show at the 4E Winery in Mapleton, ND. We discovered this gem on a trip through the area a few years ago. it’s a beautiful farm west of Fargo with excellent wines (all made from local grapes), amazing food, and a wonderful vibe! Come, enjoy what they have to offer, and we’ll keep you entertained. Music starts at 2pm.

The next stop in Duluth, MN is a new venue for us. Wussow’s Concert Cafe is a locally owned coffeehouse featuring live music, a full espresso bar, homemade fare, and “a fun variety of beer and wine”. Their main purpose is to create a welcoming atmosphere for anyone who loves great conversation, amazing coffee, healthy food, and the best original music; a place to socialize during the day, work or study in the afternoon, and enjoy concerts at night. Join us there on Saturday, October 17th when we share the evening with other musicians (TBD). Music starts at 7pm.

If you’ll be at the Folk Alliance Regional Midwest (FARM) conference in Minneapolis, MN October 22nd through 25th, give us a shout! We’d love to connect.

We finish out a very busy month at the HooMac Songwriter Series showcase at Sleeper’s Bar in Bloomington, IN on Tuesday, October 27th. We’ve played this showcase hosted by the Hoosier Original Music Association (HooMac) in the past, and enjoyed the music and conversation. Sadly, this is their last planned showcase, as they’ve lost their funding for the series, so we’ll do our best to help them make it a good one to end on! We’ll be sharing the evening with Alex Kerns and Dave Sisson. Music starts at 7pm.

This Friday, October 2nd, is Bandcamp Friday! That’s the day when Bandcamp passes along their fees on music purchases to the musicians whose music is purchased. It’s not too early to start thinking about holiday gift-giving, and music makes a great gift! We have four albums on there, and would love for you to pick up a few. Of course, we welcome your stopping by our Bandcamp page at any time, but Bandcamp Friday gets us a wee bit more money from your purchases.

October brings us into the final days of the harvest each year, and Dan’s song Harvest Time celebrates all that makes it special. Check it out here!

We’re working on adding shows to our 2027 schedule. Got a local venue that you think we should play? Send it along! Got a room in your house that would be good for hosting 10-30 friends for a house concert? We’d love to play for you up close and personal! Just contact us via our Contact page. Don’t know what hosting a house concert entails? No worries, we can help with that! It’s easy-peasy.

Our albums Who We Are, Then and Now, Seeking, and Simple Grace are available from us at shows and on our website, through Bandcamp, or you can find them at iTunes and most other online music stores. Our music is also available streaming on Spotify and Apple Music.

As always, you can find additional schedule information on our website. For additional content, follow us on Patreon. For more frequent news updates and information, check out our Facebook fan page.
