The winter solstice has been celebrated and noted as the turning of the year and the return of the light as long as humans have roamed the earth. There are stories from ancient times about it. Holidays of some of the world’s major religions are timed to be near the solstice.

We originally wrote this song for a live show on WICN radio hosted by Nick Noble. He invites artists to come play in the holiday show, but at least one of the songs presented must be a holiday song. Since we didn’t have one in our repertoire, this is what we wrote.
