Acoustic Showcase – Lexington, MA

ACOUSTIC SHOWCASE: live, free, original and caffeinated

Saturday, August 4th, from 5 to 8 pm
Starbucks, 60 Bedford Street in Lexington, MA

We’ve got a real folk vibe going this Saturday. Original songs, some really nice guitar work, harmonious voices. Stop by, put your feet up, have a little iced coffee. And if you want more than that, check out our blog: http://acousticshowcaselexington.blogspot.com

Kenny Selcer – 5pm

Kenny is a warm, eclectic performer who plays a wide range of material: folk rock, blues, country and reggae. His deft, engaging guitar work and intimate vocals keep audiences asking for more. Kenny plays well-known classics with original spice, as well as originals that will have you tapping your feet and singing along.

Rick Drost – 6pm

Rick Drost has been added to the lineup, replacing Patty Keough who injured her hand. Rick is a fabulous songwriter whose wit and wisdom always make for a delightful performance.

Dan and Faith – 7pm

Dan and Faith play what they call “dream inspired original folk,” featuring dual instruments and lovely vocal harmonies. Musicians from an early age, the two met while studying at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Though professional life led them away from music for over twenty years, a song-writing workshop series with Maura and Pete Kennedy brought them back to their musical roots. To play the songs they write, Dan learned guitar and harmonica; Faith picked up the mandolin, later adding bass guitar and tenor banjo to her accomplishments.

Farmer’s Market Music

The local area is lucky to have many fine farmer’s markets. These are a great way to connect with the people who grow your food, and get just-picked produce. Even for home-gardeners like us, the markets provide access to crops beyond what we grow ourselves.

Each summer we play music at area markets. Folks stroll by while shopping, stop for a few minutes and enjoy a song or two. It’s a pleasant way for us to share our music with folks who’ve never heard us before, and it’s always a delight to see familiar faces in the crowd too!

This month we’re playing at the Acton-Boxboro Farmer’s Market on Pearl Street in West Acton Village. The market is thus Sunday, the 17th, and opens at 10AM, and we’ll play from 11AM until 1PM. In September we’ll be at the Maynard market, and October in Pepperell. These markets have music every week, with different artists and genres, so there’s always something interesting to hear at the markets!
