Tomorrow we venture out to the Catskills of New York State to attend the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance. Some 800 folk musicians, concert promoters, DJs, journalists, photographers and others will be converging for a weekend of music making, networking and fun. Yes, even folk musicians have conferences.
We will host a few late night showcases and play in others. But most of all, we look forward to reconnecting with old friends and meeting lots of new folks too!
Every Sunday in the summertime there’s music under the tent at the Old Manse. Built in 1770 for patriot minister William Emerson, The Old Manse, a National Historic Landmark, became the center of Concord’s political, literary, and social revolutions over the course of the next century. As with the Old North Bridge just next door to the Manse, this area is steeped in the history of the birth of our nation.
The Sunday music series features a different local musician or collection of musicians each week. Arrive by foot, car, or canoe or kayak!
This Sunday, the performers are Dan & Faith Senie and Chris Gerstner & John Boehmer. Chris and John are both wonderful songwriters and performers. We look forward to swapping songs for the afternoon, and adding some harmonies to each others’ songs. Won’t you come join us?
We’ll play from 2-4PM. Bring a picnic lunch, a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy free music on a summer afternoon!
