Annual Apple Party

Saturday October 16th, 2010.

1PM until later

Each fall we gather friends and family to celebrate the arrival of the new apple crop, and the rest of the fall harvest. Come and enjoy apple crisp, apple cider, and plain old apples! The usual additional fare will include salads, chili, black bean soup, homemade breads, and some surprises. As many of you know, we eat a vegan diet (that’s vegetarian, with no eggs, dairy, or other animal-based products). This may be new to you, but we promise you won’t starve :-)

Folks sometimes do bring along food, but please don’t feel this is necessary. It’s quite likely that Dan will cook up a storm, so there’ll be lots to eat. If you do bring something that’s not vegan, we’re cool with that, but please take any leftovers with you.

This year the event will be on Saturday October 16th, starting at 1PM. There’s no fixed end-time. Directions are listed below.

Please let us know if you can make it. Send email at party@senie.com or call and leave a message on the answering machine.

Things to bring: Yourself, spouse, S.O., friend, or whatever, kids, etc., car (or other conveyance), the directions below (unless you’ve got a good memory). Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, fiddle, or other acoustic instrument if you’d like to share a song or jam.

Things not allowed: Any illegal substances, or any noxious-but-legal substances (tobacco products, for example). Smoking of any materials is expressly forbidden at our place.

Location: We are located at 324 Still River Road, Bolton, MA. The phone number here is 978-779-0439 in case you get lost on the way or have questions.

PARKING: There is some parking in our driveway and along side the driveway on the grass on the right side as you enter. Please don’t use the lawn in front of the house (softer ground). For additional parking, the easiest place is on Nashaway road, which is a few yards north of our driveway on the other side of Still River Road. Be careful to look for traffic when crossing the street, as the people tend to drive too fast on this road. Don’t park on Still River Road, as it’s too busy a street and not wide enough to accommodate parking.

WARNING: Do not exceed posted speed limits within the town of Bolton! (doing so will lighten our tax burden, though!).

From the East: Take the Mass. Pike west to Rt. 495, and then go north on 495 to exit 27, Route 117. If you take Route 2 instead of the Pike, take 495 south to exit 27 instead. Once at the route 117 exit, head west toward Bolton. Continue through Bolton. At the far side of town, you will come to a traffic light (not the flashing light in the middle of town) and you’ll take a right there. This is Route 110, also known as Still River Road. We are 1 mile up on the left. Look for number 324 on the mailbox.

From the West: Take the Pike to Exit 10, Auburn. At the exit, take Rt. 290 north. When you see signs for Interstate 190, take it. You’ll be going north on 190 (no other choice). You will travel this road for quite some time. Enjoy the scenic views. You’re looking for the Route 117 exit. When you get there, take a right at the bottom of the ramp. If you came in via Route 2 from the west, take the I-190 south exit from Route 2, and exit at Route 117, take a left at the end of the ramp. You are now on Route 117, heading east. continue on this road until you reach the Route 110 interchange. This will be at the first real traffic light (flashing lights do not count). Take a left. We are 1 mile up, on the left. Look for Box number 324.
